BREAKING NEWS
Tuesday 1 December
This area will be in Tier Two – High Risk, when the second lockdown ends this week. The draft guidance issued from the EIBA on 28 November is as follows:
“Organised indoor bowls will only be permitted if it is possible for people to avoid mixing with people they do not live with (or share a support bubble with).
Club bars and restaurants can remain open between the hours of 5am to 11pm but are only allowed to have people from the same household / support bubble on a table. Alcohol is only permitted to be sold with a substantial meal. Last orders must be at 10pm with guests leaving the venue by 11pm.”
The Board of Directors have decided that these restrictions make it unviable for us to re-open the Club until further notice.
We will review this again on 4 January 2021.

The Management Committee continue to maintain the club premises to be a safe environment for all members to enjoy their visits and bowling. This includes our recent investment in equipment to assist the safety measures, ensuring we are guided by EIBA/BE and the law.
- Wall mounted thermometers - you will see we have these in the club entrance to check temperatures of each visitor.
- NHS COVID19 App - the Club has a dedicated QR code for you to scan with your smartphone. This is on the board just inside the entrance. You can still sign in on the paper list instead.
- Additional equipment - we now have our own ‘fogging’ machine, another way to assist keeping the premises COVID safe. The machine sprays a very fine anti bac mist and we will use it in the lounge area and seating, lockers and indoor green, in addition to the strict cleaning regime we have in place.
- Temperature in the Club house - the extractor fans must be operating and we need to have as much fresh air coming in as possible, by keeping entrance doors open. The heating is on and as we now move into autumn and winter, we will have to balance the incoming air with the outgoing heat. Please be prepared by having a cardigan or jacket with you.
We trust all the investment of equipment and time to keep the premises COVID safe, will provide an enjoyable and safe visit.
